Last night, Kennedy had a Febrile seizure at 8:00 p.m. This happened due to a drastic spike in her temperature. By God's grace, Molly was still in the room with her when this happened. By the time the paramedics arrived, she was breathing again but was very "out of it" and laying on her side. Initially we did not take her to the hospital because of varied advice but then ended up at Clarian Hospital late last night. She seemed better so we took her home. By the time we got home, Molly had started to have contractions, which lasted for over 2 hours and were close to a minute apart at times. Luckily, no baby. This morning, we took her back to Clarian Hospital after she had gotten sick (on our living room carpet). We were there for several hours and they took her through many tests: a C/T scan, blood work, chest x-rays, and other tests. Luckily, nothing severe or alarming appeared. Our final scare was this afternoon when she woke up from her nap. She looked at me and said "Drink, Drink." She was burning up so I checked her temperature, which was OVER 104 degrees. After giving her Motrin and taking a walk in the cool air with her, her temperature got much better.
After going through this experience, we are grateful for God for keeping her safe (and keeping us calm). God is good, all the time.
Finally, I took this picture when we got home today. This was the spot where they took blood from her foot (and gave her an I.V.). We told her she had "bees" on her foot.
