Silly-ness

Kennedy talks to grandma on the phone to say "I don't know." Shockingly, this is one of the few times she does not have an opinion on something.

Kennedy tries to relive her old days of the "pumpkin" seat. She MIGHT be just a little too big now.

Silly-ness. This is Kennedy's famous picture pose that we are working on.

My three favorite girls: Kennedy, Molly, and Ansley. What a crew, huh?

Ansley Joanne Applegate: Day 2

Day 2 in the life of Ansley is here. Realizing I forgot to update her stats yesterday, she was born at 2:36 p.m., weighed 6 lbs, 10 ozs, and was 19 3/4 inches long. Compared to Kennedy, Ansley arrived 2 weeks early, is a pound lighter, and is about the same length as Kennedy was.

Day 2 has been great. We've had a chance to spend some family time together, let Molly rest up, and get more room service. Thanks for all of your prayers and support. Below are some updated pics.

Ansley finally opens her eyes.

Tired, tired, tired.

Welcome Baby Ansley Applegate!

Today was a GREAT day, Praise God. After a full night of sleep, Molly started having contractions at 6 in the morning. After getting to the hospital by 9:30 this morning, Molly had an awesome labor and delivery (only pushing for 10 minutes... compared with over 3 hours for the first baby). Ansley is healthy and doing great... even better, Molly feels healthy and great. It's been such a great day... the only downside will be sleeping on the hospital "bed/couch." That's it, God is good. Yay.Mom, Kennedy, and Ansley take their first picture together.

Andrew Johnson's Birthday Party

Bunny, Kennedy, Emily, and Andrew are posing for a picture.

Andrew and Kennedy check out a new toy.

Kennedy and Kaylee Murray like to hang

Tyler Baker, son Ryan, Kennedy, and dad pose for a picture. Why is Kennedy the only one to wear the cool hat?

Kelly and Molly's Birthday Party

Mommy Kiss

Becky and Kyle's dog Lily. She's an energetic, fun Boston Terrier who Kennedy refers to as Lyla.

Great Grandma Gigi's famous "red" cake is a hit. She had talked about this for HOURS.

Getting ready for the new baby

Kennedy ponders what it will be like to no longer be an only child.
Our daughter stays busy in the kitchen. Who dressed her? Dad?
Kennedy likes to give milk to the baby. Yum.
Kisses are good.

Happy 31st Birthday Molly!

Happy Birthday Molly! Although you are now 31, and almost have 2 kids, you are definitely not too old to color. Seriously, thanks for being the best mom and wife I could pick. I love you, Kelly

Our Scary Ordeal

Last night, Kennedy had a Febrile seizure at 8:00 p.m. This happened due to a drastic spike in her temperature. By God's grace, Molly was still in the room with her when this happened. By the time the paramedics arrived, she was breathing again but was very "out of it" and laying on her side. Initially we did not take her to the hospital because of varied advice but then ended up at Clarian Hospital late last night. She seemed better so we took her home. By the time we got home, Molly had started to have contractions, which lasted for over 2 hours and were close to a minute apart at times. Luckily, no baby. This morning, we took her back to Clarian Hospital after she had gotten sick (on our living room carpet). We were there for several hours and they took her through many tests: a C/T scan, blood work, chest x-rays, and other tests. Luckily, nothing severe or alarming appeared. Our final scare was this afternoon when she woke up from her nap. She looked at me and said "Drink, Drink." She was burning up so I checked her temperature, which was OVER 104 degrees. After giving her Motrin and taking a walk in the cool air with her, her temperature got much better.

After going through this experience, we are grateful for God for keeping her safe (and keeping us calm). God is good, all the time.

Finally, I took this picture when we got home today. This was the spot where they took blood from her foot (and gave her an I.V.). We told her she had "bees" on her foot.

Molly and Kennedy are enjoying a moment after getting back from the hospital today. Who do you think looks happier? I think it's a coin flip.

Fun times with cousin Ella

Kennedy loves to hold her cousin Ella.

Ella poses for the camera.
In this picture, Kennedy is trying to smile and model her new pink jacket. She has refused to wear this jacket for several weeks until we had her bunny wear the jacket today. (We also told her that she would look pretty like aunt Cassie if she put it on.)

Kennedy's new room

Here is Kennedy strolling around her new "big girl" room talking to Aunt Cassie on the phone.

Kennedy is showing mom and dad how to sleep in her new bed like a big girl. It's her first day in the bed and she LOVES it.
First time jumping on the new bed (and probably not the last).

Kennedy loves her monkey backpack she received for X-mas from her aunt Becky and uncle Kyle as much as she loves Elmo, given to her for X-mas by her aunt Katie and uncle Josh.

Fun times in January

Here is Kennedy posing for a picture. She's finally at that age where she's trying to smile for the camera (sort of, I guess)
Here is dad and Kennedy working on blowing out a birthday cake. Don't let those candles fool you... her dad is now 31 as of 1/12/08. Yikes.

In this picture, we see the three youngest members of the McHugh clan: Ella McHugh, Emily McHugh, and Kennedy Applegate. Guess who is the oldest?
Kennedy is patting the Bible and telling us about Jesus. Pretty cool huh? However, she later asks to look at my Bible, which is a Bible full of color pictures for kids (My Bible was a hand-me down from my sister; she had this Bible when she was 10). Trust me, my Bible rocks.
