Accessories?

If you don't know this by now, Kennedy is a fashion diva (although I'm not really sure what that word means). I've never met a 2 and 1/2 year old who spends more time planning her outfits to include everything from necklaces, bracelets, sunglasses, dance skirts, shoes of all types, lip gloss, purses, and almost any other item that she can wear.

She loves organizing her clothes and packing them in her Dora suitcase in the closet. I think it's hilarious (her mom doesn't) that she takes all of her clothes out of her dresser and goes through this routine of packing her bag at least one time each week. This is the beginning of many mother / daughter "battles" that will continue to shape up in the future.

What can we say? She is a girly girl and these various combos provide great entertainment (and photos). Tonight, when Molly asked Kennedy if she wanted anything special at the store (i.e. jello because she is sick, Kennedy asked for a new shirt). Kennedy is definitely Molly junior and I love every minute of it. Kennedy also reminds me a little of Punky Brewster (if anybody else is old enough to remember Punky.

Enjoy the pictures!

Caught Red Handed

Kennedy has a tendency towards "hording." Okay, we aren't entirely sure what this term means, but she likes to put all of her stuff in a a big pile, typically somewhere on the first floor of the house. What is her "stuff" you might ask? Good question because only she really knows. It is typically a combination of purses, babies, an assortment of accessories, and a big 3-foot shark (don't ask).

The pictures below capture a moment when Kennedy went down for her nap and Ansley got to play with Kennedy's stuff (without Kennedy complaining about it). Kennedy is okay at sharing sometimes, but it is definitely something we need to keep working on.

Happy New Year

2008 was a busy and wild year with many ups and downs. Some of the "ups" are things that we take for granted, such as: blessings of friends, family, and other people in our lives; the continued health of most of our loved ones; and Tom Brady getting hurt (j-k... sort of).

The "downs" are numerous: very uncertain American economy (hurting stock market, housing market collapse, corporation bailouts); new presidential election and uncertainty; and IU basketball having the worst year in it's illustrious history.

Overall, it "is what it is." Through tumultuous times and job uncertainties, God gives us peace that whatever happens, he will give us the strength and endurance to handle it. Sorry if this sounds corny, but it's an awesome certainty that we have. With all of our stresses, it could be much worse. I have a friend who communicates with the leader of a tribal village. Their main concerns are: famine, AIDS, and their main water sources continuing to dry up. Do we really have it so bad?

2009 will be a great year, with many ups and downs. If we didn't have "downs," I really don't think the "ups" would be as sweet.

Have a great year everybody!

Kennedy breaks in the new year by enjoying some sunshine and 40-degree weather.

Ansley stays warm, very warm.

Two cuties

Ansley LOVES to kiss... this could spell trouble.
