Roadtrip to Detroit

This past weekend we took a road trip to the greater Detroit area for a wedding. Along the way, we stopped at a beautiful gas station locale... of course this was an extended visit because Ansley needed to eat lunch. During this stop, Kennedy and I toured the property and I somehow let her fall into the only mud pit on the entire property (literally).

All in all, it was a pretty good road trip.

Gas station rendevous. Can you find our red Vue?

Kennedy poses in front of a random bush at the gas station. She walked along the railroad ties in the background until the aforementioned mud puddle "incident" described earlier. Fun times...

Kennedy and Ansley are chillin' on the bed before we leave for the wedding. *Editor's note: I simultaneously got in trouble during this photo shoot for allowing Kennedy to eat corn bread in bed, which tends to produce lots of crumbs. Ironically, Kennedy and I ended up sharing the other bed that night.

A normal day

For those of you who still read our blog, I've been a little lazy this past week in posting pictures. However, don't be afraid, I have some great pics from this past weekend I plan on using for material this week.

These pictures below show a "normal" day for us. You might ask what is normal? These pictures highlight a normal weekday evening of relaxing on our back porch, letting Kennedy swing, and the girls "playing" together on Ansley's play mat. It is interesting that the most simple events can elicit the most joy. It's awesome, comforting, and humbling to think that God has a plan for everything, including what type of family we have (and will continue to have in the future). It is almost impossible to think about life without my 3 girls (Molly, Kennedy, and Ansley) and I thank God evey day for these gifts.

Dad and Ansley chill.

Kennedy rocks her favorite sunglasses (not everybody can "pull these sunglasses off").

Ansley LOVES her play mat (so does her mom).

Kennedy also still loves the playmat. I had to add this picture... I love how the sunlight comes through the window.

Tunnel Mania

The pictures below show the exciting world of tunnels. Fun huh? The first two pictures show Kennedy crawling through a tunnel on a play set in Michigan City. The bottom two pictures show her crawling through a tunnel at the Children's Museum.

Although we have been posting pictures for the last week or so, I'm sure you all (the 3-4 of you who read this) are looking forward to a change of pace. So, unless I have any new pictures in the next couple days, I might have to dig some pictures out of my vault. On a side note, congrats to our friends Ryan and Anna Palmer with the birth of their daughter. Can't wait to meet her...

More Michigan City...

This picture proves that the Tebbes were in Michigan City with us. It also has the most adults in any of the pictures I took. This also highlighter the amazing dinner that Christa made for us.

Guess who is having more fun? The dads or the girls?

Ansley poses with Sophia Bird.

Here we get the girls together for another picture. I strategically placed Kennedy on the taller step to increase her height. Lauren Landis followed her lead.

More Weekend Pics

Ansley has deep thoughts... about food.

In possibly the cutest picture I took this weekend, Lauren Landis and Kennedy simultaneously hug, smile, and look at the camera together. What a couple of cuties.

Lucy Shultz and dad Cody share a moment. The next morning, she woke up at 3:00 in the morning and went strong until about noon. She's definitely a party animal.

Lauren, Lucy, Kennedy, and Sophia Bird pose for the camera. It's like herding cats... very cute cats.

Michigan City Excursion

This past weekend, Molly, myself, Kennedy, and Ansley, loaded up the 'ol Saturn Vue and headed towards Michigan city for our [most likely] annual weekend visit with our good friends from college. Although the weather was colder than anticipated (low-to-mid 40's), this did not dampen the weekend. Although there were 6 kids present (in the 3 to below range... and 3 in utero), we feel strangely rejuvenated and refreshed. We truly feel blessed to have these friends and look forward to many great years ahead as our kids grow up together and form their own friendships. Highlights included a rousing game of Balderdash, watching the the kids use Uncle Cody as a human playset, Christa's dinner, eating Cody's guacamole, spending 2 hours trying to give Kennedy a nap on Saturday afternoon, and watching 2 year olds build friendships.

I digress, obviously.

Other musings... I've realized that most of the pictures I take are of kids. Of the 170+ pictures I took this weekend, I'm pretty sure there was not a picture with both Molly and myself... or even the adult couples that were present. From the pictures I took, you would almost think that Cody was the only adult present (and I use the word "adult" with caution).

Anyway, we had an unbelievable time. This week I plan on posting several pictures from this week. Enjoy.

This photo shows part of the "Beachwalk" community. When this photo was taken, it was 69 degrees at 2:30 on Friday afternoon. This temperature dropped very quickly.

We took a 10-minute walk after our 3-hour car ride from Noblesville. Here is Kennedy stretching her legs and waving at me shortly after arriving at our rental house.

Molly, Kennedy, and Ansley enjoy a brief walk. This walk ended after about 50 more feet, when Ansley asked to go back (in her own way).

Crazy times. Kennedy and Christos run circles around the couch downstairs (more craziness to follow).

It's Springtime!

... well not quite yet. However, we have been LOVING this warm weather (especially Kennedy). This has been a long and very cold winter and we have enjoying this solar therapy for the past few days. Most of the pictures below are of Kennedy using the slide for the first time (well, sort of). It was the first time she climbed the ladder and went down the slide completely by herself. Pretty exciting huh?

Kennedy prepares to plunge down the slide. This is her smiling for the camera.

This photo catches a snapshot of Kennedy as she is halfway down the slide. The last picture in this sequence (not shown here), shows her laying down completely horizontal on the green grass. She has a future as a stunt woman.

As previously described, Kennedy climbs the ladder by herself. She's getting so big.

Our little artist works on her first masterpiece.

Last Day of Wedding Pics

Kennedy has deep thoughts after the wedding is finished.

Kyle and Becky, looking eSPEcially dapper.

Kennedy's profile. Believe it or not, this was one of the few times she was not on the dance floor.

Grandma Jerry and Grandpa Doc. It was GREAT to see you both. Congrats on winning the "married longest" dance competition. We love you both!

And the Wedding Lives on...

Craig and Meg pose for a picture after dinner. They had a moment to themselves before I took this picture. What a cool and composed couple....

My dinner. D-LIC-OUS. Kyle mocked me for taking this picture, but I will now remember my meal forever, which a combination of some type of chicken (?), mashed potatoes, asparagus, and the best part... GRAVY. Thank you Sumracz family... great choice!

Craig and Meg rock the dance floor.

This picture highlights the "Best Man" patch worn by Dustin Claretto. If you have seen, "You, Me, and and my Depree," then you probably know where this inspiration came from. Great job Dustin! You're the man.
